Property Industry Foundation is the charity of choice for the property and construction industry. We provide a place for the property and construction industry to bring our resources together to help solve the community problem of youth homelessness.

Our mandate is to raise awareness of youth homelessness and to raise funds for distribution across grass-roots charities who care for at risk and homeless young people

There are over 9,200 young people that are homeless in Victoria every night.

70% left home due to family violence, child abuse or family breakdown.

Young people under the age of 25 make up half of the homeless population. One in every 51 girls aged 15 -19 used a homeless service last year. The number of children using homeless services has increased by around 15,000 in the last couple of years. According to the 2011 census there were over 44,000 young people homeless, meaning that about 43% of the Australian homeless population are babies, children and youth under the age of 25.

The Foundation raises in the vicinity of $2 million each year and in Victoria we distribute major donations to two young people’s charities Open Family Australia and Lighthouse Foundation.  We also provide support to Kids off the Kerb, Melbourne City Mission, Ardoch Youth Foundation and Good Beginnings/Save the Children.   Our in-kind and cash donations contribute to building projects, tangible projects and programs that will directly benefit at risk and homeless young people.

PropertyBlitz is our young community minded group of industry professionals who volunteer their time and expertise to deliver networking and fundraising activities, event support and special projects including the Community Work-a-bee Program.

Funds raised at the 2016 Nexus Ball will go towards our PropertyBlitz Community Work-a-bee Program – which undertakes upgrades, maintenance and refurbishments of properties such as drop-in centres and care homes operated by our charity beneficiaries supporting homeless and at risk young people.

Please see Links below to photographs of some of the past Work-a-bee’s we have undertaken.
